The IndieWeb

Hi!! Today, in this post, in this minute, at this second, milesecond and picosecond, I'll yap about the IndieWeb and the many things that characterize it (or, at the very least, make related pages feel unique).

Design

Usually indie pages or sites don't care much about consistency, making it very easy to find a lot of unique stuff! Specially when pages link one to another, then it becomes a pretty big rabbit hole! They also may look alike, but there is always an interesting twist in these pages. Say, a moving background! Or sparkly and or shaky text like you have seen multiple times in this neocities page! Gifs and animated buttons also play a big roles in these sites, as each pops out on the screen and makes you want to click them all to see where they lead... It's a great passtime!

Imagery

As I said earlier, gifs and animated images in general makes these sites extra fun to look at, so make sure you include some, being them cool or not (well, someone might find them cool just as you do!). There's HUGE gif catalogues out there like 99gifshop, gifs-paradise and the coolest one: momg, which is basically a random gif generator you can go through multiple rooms in! The amount of sources is INFINITE! if you consider any site that provides gifs... well... a source!

The People Behind

These sites don't have groups or corporations behind them, only passionate individuals who are willing to use their time to make something unique to them! That's mostly why sites on the IndieWeb are so different from one another, they're made to reflect you and your interests! No matter what skill or amount of creativity you have, anyone can make something that screams them (or at the minimum pass off the vibe). There's always a way of making your page do specific things, even if it doesn't end up how you imagined it. It's all the magic of learning and taking notes of what gets your attention in people's pages!

Conclusion

Even though it may seem like this is all a niched thing, anyone can join the IndieWeb and figure something out! Don't feel scared to express your interests in your pages, because its basically what this all about! Go crazy!! Add animated text, gifs, images, guestbooks, and whatever else to your liking!
